Missing a Maths Exam

In Mathematics we use regular exams to help us determine how students are progressing. It is important for students to be present at school on the day of the exam so that all students can undertake the exam under the same conditions and with the same amount of preparation time. As a general rule students who miss an exam will be given an estimate regardless of whether they sit the test at a later date or not. Students who miss an exam may be given the opportunity to catch the exam up at school or they may be given it to take home and do under exam conditions.

If a student knows in advance that they are going to miss an exam they need to let their class teacher know so that an alternate arrangement can be found. If missing the exam is unexpected it would be appreciated if parents could contact the class teacher or Head Teacher (0249 342066) so that we are aware of the circumstances and how long the absence will be for.

Students in Years 11 & 12 MUST follow the appropriate school procedures regarding assessment tasks or they may find they are awarded zero for the task and put themselves at risk of receiving an N-Award letter.
